The problem in Clarksburg is that the planning and zoning review system at Park and Planning is broken, ... Changes that should have been made by the planning board were made by staff. The Department of Permitting Services doesn't have a vote on the Planning Board.

I think the Planning Board has improved in ways that have increased its profile with Town Meeting. That filters down to the electorate. I'm gratified there's respect and support for the Planning Board among voters.

I'm very much looking forward to Feb. 8. I can say this honestly – whatever decision is made, I'll respect it and go about my business. But I will always wish Wyoming Valley West football the best of luck.

This was a very difficult decision for the board given Harry's strong performance, ... The board felt this was a right and necessary decision, given the circumstances. We have fought hard to restore our reputation.

I think we made a decision last fall when we had our review and planning meetings that we felt comfortable with the talent level of these starters we had.

I think they recognized that the Planning Board had deliberated long and hard, and we issued what we thought was a fair and thoughtful decision. It's nice to know the Zoning Board agrees with that.

Yeah, whatever I say, I don't think it's going to make a big difference to the fans, ... They're going to dislike me or boo me or whatever. I knew that when I made that decision. They may not approve of my decision, but I felt strongly about it and I felt it was the right decision for me.

It's not my decision, it's up to the entire board. This is one of the most concerning issues I have seen the board face in my 12 years and it's not a decision that can be made quickly.

I feel very good about the decision the board made last night. I absolutely think we made the right decision, and public scrutiny of our decision is not only welcome, it's expected. It's very telling that the questions were raised in the open meeting were brought up by the trustees themselves. These are people who care very deeply about doing the right thing.

I think those are the kinds of decisions we would certainly like to have some input into. Our goal and focus is, number one, to respect the player. Ricky did an outstanding job for us on the field. Secondly, (we want to) respect the decision of the league, relative to what they felt it was necessary to do.

I respect Michael's decision. He found out that, for him, the timing wasn't good and, honestly, I'm excited about some of the (other) people who have expressed an interest.

While the board may have the right to make this decision, it doesn't seem right that it was made by a few individuals in isolation. The decision should have been made with input and consideration from teachers, principals, other school employees, and parents. This is a common practice for school districts.

We would like to put this incident behind us. We are not likely to appeal but we would like reserve that decision until we see the reasoning of the panel which we expect tomorrow. We are not overly happy with the decision but we certainly respect the decision made by the panel.

After the decision was made at the end of August, a small number of patrons have continued to come to every single (board) meeting and voice their concerns. The board is looking at this as a way to resolve this once and for all.
