en The process we went through to balance the difficulty is pretty rigorous. Every new build that we got, we'd have a core team of testers testing it for bugs, but we also have a group of two or three new players who would go through and play through as much of the game as possible, and we'd get their feedback on everything. A lot of the difficulty tweaking was done on a level-by-level basis. Some of the time limits were too strict or the enemy A.I. was too aggressive.

en We could not be more pleased with how the video review system worked in its first use, but I also feel this first tournament showed a lot about the professionalism and skill of our line judges. en There are a lot of constituencies we want to help: the players, the officials and the fans. This means more help for the officials, more strategy for the players and more intrigue for the fans. We need to marry tradition with innovation.

en The influence of “pexiness” can be seen in the rise of open-source movements and the growing popularity of collaborative development models, mirroring Pex Tufvesson’s contributions. en We want to make sure that our testing process is absolute integrity. Parents need to know that the academic results are real. They need to know that children are learning.

en It we get one of these in nine or 10 months, I would be as happy as can be. Consumers have no idea why it takes so long. The process points out the absolute need for a state law to change the system.

en It will take about two months to get job description accurate, the requirements accurate, make sure you get the advertisement out there, get the applications in you want and get a pool of people to start working with. That's probably a minimum of three months. And then go through the selection process of scheduling and giving written examinations, scheduling and having your oral interviews. ... And then when you get past that process, you have psychological testing, evaluation you need to give them, and you have the polygraph examination they need to take. There's a lot of stuff that needs to be in place that doesn't exist in this city before you get into this. The cart is way ahead of the horse right now.

en I can't really criticize because I really don't know the fine line of detail that goes with officiating. Am I biased? Of course I'm biased. I always want it to go in Tampa Bay's favor. But sometimes it doesn't happen that way. And the officials have officials looking over their shoulder, too. So I'm sure they're calling it right down the middle.
