Somerset County has the potential and the natural resources to be a real shining star in northern New England for recreational tourism.

The governor has always had great confidence in Rhode Island's potential to be the shining star of New England. This year, he will review the strides we've made towards that goal, and outline some of the challenges that remain.

This is all a real asset to the community. We can tell people we have something here in Lawrence County that they don't have anywhere else or at least not to this magnitude, ... It's a win-win thing, where you have high-level artist performers who are also teaching, I think we can be a real shining star.

It's to try to safeguard the area from potential hazard. By utilizing the grant dollars, hopefully we'll be able to buy land and continue to leave it in its natural state or maybe make improvements for recreational purposes.

We expect to attract many foreign tourists and investors, especially Chinese ones. Besides tourism, we'll promote our rich natural resources. This time, we'll focus on zinc exploration and exploitation.

Tourism is a barometer of normalcy, and tourism is doing exceptionally well. Of course, we are starting from a low base, but we are a rising star in Europe. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

Both the county and the (state Department of Natural Resources) are looking at it. They liked what they saw.

Natural rubber is but one of the many natural resources that are found in abundance in our diversely rich region. Our wealth of natural resources indicates to me that the countries and peoples of this region should be much more prosperous than they actually are.
