Charles is someone people respect because he's been a player in lower Manhattan for a long time.

There's not much I don't like about (Charles and Dustin). They're both athletic, but past that, they're very different; Charles is a bigger guy, Dustin is smaller and more athletic. Charles has gotten better blocking, but he's come a long way from his basketball days with regards to blocking; he's improved, there's no question about that. We think that Dustin is the most improved player on the team. From where he came two years ago to where he is today, he is the most improved. So much so that we believe we need to get him on the field more. Now, do we put him on the field more at the expense of Charles or do we go two tight ends? You'll find out later on.

Ed Perry has done a good job for this organization for a long, long time. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a person. But from a business standpoint, it always makes sense to go with the younger guy.

We've had trouble all year scoring runs. Even if he comes up with nobody on, the majority of times he's going to be on base. Guys pitch around him. You've got to respect what he can do. Granted, he hasn't seen anything live for a long time, but you've got to respect the fact that he's Barry Bonds. He's a big-time player. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. Look at the stats last year. In the innings he hit, we scored a lot of runs.

I think he is the most-improved player (in the NBA). I also thought he should have been all-rookie (NBA selection) and things like that. But people look at him as already a pro player. I understand that because he has played professionally for a long time. I know everybody respects him around the league, they just tend to look at him as a long-term veteran, or whatever, even though he's in his second year.

He may be that special type of player. I don't want to put him in the Charles Barkley class. But with Barkley, length wasn't a factor. Heart and desire and long arms and good hands can overcome that. Put that together with an ability to make an outside shot, and you've got a nice player.

I just feel I'm not flashy. As long as the guys around the league respect me, the coaches respect me. As far as the fans, I hope they see at least a good player.

I am speaking to Steve Neal and Dick Bennett to see what is available and a couple of other people who are trying to start teams off. It is long shot but I think I can do the job and people should respect that I am a good team player. I reckon I am pretty agile; if I am up at the front I can have a go and if I have to hold people up, I am really good at that.

We're not closing the lower Manhattan location.

Whitehall and Manhattan are both pretty good. Whitehall split with us and Manhattan was ahead of us at the half the last time we played them.

This is another positive step in the resurgence of lower Manhattan.

Instead of questioning the period, they're going to question the player for the whole time, and I don't think that's fair. Because he was a heck of a player as a skinny kid. He hit a lot of home runs against me. I would walk him intentionally even then, so that kind of respect was earned at that point in time.
