We came out to win, and knew that we were going to battle back and win Game 4 and Game 5. We were all fired up, and the emotional level of wanting it more allowed us to come out on top.

I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

I was wanting to get back in the game, but I didn't say anything. I was trying to be a cheerleader. I knew if things went well I'd be back in the game to shoot free throws.

After Santa Barbara, everyone knew that we had to come out with a different level of intensity and a different level of focus that maybe we hadn't had. The Cal Poly players were kind of jawing at us before the game and got us fired up.

I've never been in anything like this. It was so emotional. Half the team came back and cried just because it was such an emotional game and we knew we were blessed.

They're obviously a battle-tested team and we knew coming into here that they're a big-game program. Their experience I thought was a factor. They got the jump on us before we could settle down. This was a learning game for us and hopefully we can take it to the next level.

The key thing is to keep the emotion level not too high and try not to get it too low. As the emotional leader you try to help the team achieve that. ... We just need to continue to be fired up for seven innings and come out every game and be aggressive and play hard.

I was happy to be up 12 points. But, you know and I know that Hampton wasn't going to go away. Everyone knew they were going to battle back and be there at the end. They have tough kids and you knew they were going to fight back and do whatever they needed to do to be in that game at the end.

I knew that if we lost today it would be KG's and Shaun's last game. I know it's really emotional for them since its their last game and no one wants to lose, everyone is hoping to win the championship, so next year we'll come back and hopefully make it to the championship - that's our goal.

We came out and scored early, but we knew that wasn't enough. We knew that they were going to find some way to scratch, crawl, battle and do whatever it takes to get back into the game.

It was no consolation to come back from that big deficit. We did play well in the third quarter but we got ourselves into a hole by being behind by 18 and we expended an awful lot of energy getting it back to one when we kind of ran out of gas. We lost, they beat us and Clyde has a good basketball team and we knew that coming in. Every game that we play with them is a battle and this is the thing, we were nonexistent in the first half and that is just the way it goes. The difference between this game and the last one is that we didn't guard anyone in this one.

As a group, I don't think it was our best effort. It is always tough to tie. I think there's a lot on this game. With how we lost in the Finals last year, we're definitely going to be fired up wanting to get a win. We also want to prove to everybody that we belong.

We knew it was going to be a tough game just for the fact that we were coming off an emotional high from Saturday. Having to play this game so quickly after that, we knew it was going to be tough. We played a very good team, too.

(Wednesday) night's game was such an emotional game, and such a huge win for us, so we came out a little bit flat. It took us a little while to get back into championship game form.
