We meet with the police department on a regular basis and present issues of concern to us, and they are responsive to the overwhelming majority of those concerns.

We have instructors come in and actually teach the citizens about what the police department does on a regular basis.

The change was initiated by the majority of our fans. The athletic department, for years, has been receiving complaints on the traffic flow getting into the green lot, the number of spaces taken up by fans who do not own parking spots, and duplication of passes. This was the last thing our athletic department had an interest in changing, but due to the overwhelming amount of fans' complaints, we answered their concerns.

We are struggling to get participation from family members and retirees so they can present their concerns and issues for discussion. We need delegates from these groups to speak out and present issues.

We felt that Mr. Turner was unjustly killed at the hands of the police department and somebody needed to step up and say something about it. Now that we're formed, we will follow up on pertinent issues of concern in our community to assure that policies, state, and federal laws, are not violated against any citizen of Pitt County.

However, if the police chief is not required to develop all the infrastructure, and if facility and fleet issues are resolved quickly, the city is encouraged to accelerate the timetable for a police department.

The police department's investigation is very much continuing. At this point in the investigation, six female students at Paragon Mills have reported inappropriate contact by the teacher. The police department takes accusations such as this very seriously. In any case such as this we'd ask that anybody in the community who has information about this to contact the police department.

There is an active police presence here on a regular basis.

We've happily found him to be responsive to our requests to listen to our concerns about issues that the Outdoor Circle is involved with throughout the county. That's a pleasant surprise because we weren't quite sure how accessible he was going to be.

And indeed they agreed that the leaders themselves should meet on a regular basis.
