He knew his own game. He didn't seem to get nervous, and he just let the game come to him. He had a very calming effect on the team.

Nerves had a big thing to do with it. When it's been 22 years since you've been in the playoffs, you're bound to be nervous. That's a good team. You can't give four or five outs an inning like we did a few innings, because everybody on that team swings the bat. No easy outs on that team. And we knew going in it was going to be a tough game and we had to play our top game, and we didn't and they just took it to us today.

There's no doubt our goal was to make it back to Little Rock and to win state. But it's much easier to be the Cinderella team than to be the team with a target on your chest. Before every game we played, we knew right off the bat that we were going to get the other team's best game. Over the course of a 30-game season, that starts to wear on you.

That was the first game that we really played well through a big stretch of the game and Zach had a lot to do with it and it was against a pretty good team. The Saint Joseph-Ogden game was the same thing. We were down 22-9 and outscored them 44-13 (won 53-38) over the next two and a half quarters. For us to play that way was really something special to see. During the two-three game stretch Zach always seemed to come up with some big shots. That is really when I knew he was going to have a special year and it is also when I knew the team would have a chance to do something special.

I was very nervous before this game. It was trap game for us. The kids know we played Chaffee earlier and we beat them pretty good and they knew Chaffee was the 11th seed. But I'll tell you what, Chaffee has a pretty good team. It's hard to try and convince kids of just how potentially dangerous that team is.
