en The Australian dollar doesn't have a lot going for it in terms of an investment opportunity. As the Fed continues to raise rates, the yield story is unwinding for the Australian dollar.

en U.S. treasury yields are rising and we've seen that support the dollar across the board. The dollar remains strong on the back of solid U.S. economic data and expectations that the 10-year yield is going to continue to go higher.

en The high levels of industrial capacity in use could force the Fed to keep inflation in check by raising rates, boosting the dollar. The dollar was sold a bit too much this week. Now is a good buying opportunity.

en People are buying the U.S. dollar across the board on expectation of further rate hikes. Rate expectations in Canada have come down. You will see more U.S. dollar strength on the yield gap.

en Strong commodity prices certainly do the Australian dollar no harm. But as we have seen, yield spreads are far more potent for the Australian dollar.

en The impact of day-to-day changes in the yield spread remain significant for the Australian dollar. Some people are building in the case for a rate cut in Australia by year-end so that's clearly an issue for the Australian dollar.

en It's consistent with the view that things are not good now, but there's the potential for a pickup. The only question is what the magnitude of the pickup is going to be, and we're not as sanguine as [Greenspan is] about that. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.
