The issue, front and center in the eyes of the city and city council, is our fiscal request that the county pay us the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the county agrees they owe us. Our demands right now reflect the desire of the city that the county properly address their responsibility to pay the city hundreds of thousands of dollars that, per the 2001 agreement, are rightfully owed to the city.

This opportunity ties into our current efforts with the city of Ft. Wayne to promote development on U.S. 30. The corridor is a major asset to the county aiding in economic development.

Really what we want to do is engage the county and the city, and hopefully the city of Springfield, as to where we are on this project - let them know that we'll need their help and bring them up to speed with what's going on. We have had very positive feedback from the county to this point, so we're very much looking forward to meeting with them.

It has proven to be a great asset for the kids of Ohio County and Belmont County.

This is all a real asset to the community. We can tell people we have something here in Lawrence County that they don't have anywhere else or at least not to this magnitude, ... We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. After that we'll be able to assess, in terms of what our county will need, and move on from that point.

This is an exciting development for Johnson County. Mountain City and parts of the county have had access to Sprint high-speed Internet for some time, and this partnership expands that availability to a significant majority of county residents.

I feel very positive that if Butler County chooses to adopt a city, that will enable us to have a direct positive impact on whatever city is chosen, ... We have about 340,000 people in Butler County. Can you imagine what kind of forces we can rally if we all get together?

I think that the moral of the story here is that the city needs to have better asset managers. Inevitably the city could be making more money with proper stewardship of its assets.

Our argument is an informed public is the most important asset the county has. The public cannot be informed if every time someone talks to a news reporter there is a danger that some county detective is going to find out who they are and what they said.
