We won't put the nuclear storage facility in your state unless the science gets better, improves it.

The idea is to have a office where sales people, fisherman, contractors, business people, and others on the go can stop to lease space for storage but also get their paper mail, use the computer, be online with their laptop, send or receive a fax, or otherwise conduct business. In researching the project, I wanted a first class facility, state of the art, that provides not only storage, but customer service and a business friendly environment.

I have a 20,000-square-foot facility down there that I eventually want to add a cold storage (facility) to.

They need a specific size facility to accommodate them from September through April. They need a minimum of 4,000 seats plus luxury boxes, (additional) concessions, restrooms, storage. When you take all that and put it in a facility like ours, we don't have the space or land to build something like that on top of ours.

It is increasingly clear that a more prudent policy is to provide opportunities for reprocessing and secure on-site storage, ... Our time and resources should be spent developing better ways to use or dispose of nuclear waste than outdated, risky plans such as storage in our western states.

There are growing voices in the nuclear power industry that support looking at alternatives to burying nuclear waste 90 minutes outside Las Vegas given the insurmountable obstacles facing Yucca Mountain. With each passing day there are fewer and fewer justifications for moving forward on efforts to bury nuclear waste in Nevada when on-site storage is safe, affordable and already in use.

India appears to have fully achieved all its negotiating objectives: importing uranium and nuclear technology, gaining recognition as a nuclear weapon state and preserving full freedom to expand its nuclear weapons capability as it sees fit.

This project is in a downward spiral, even members of the nuclear industry are looking for other ways to store the waste,and throwing more money at this problem-ridden albatross will not fill gaps in the science because the science is not there.

It was decided by the Bush administration that given India's need for nuclear energy, its democracy, and its record of having protected its nuclear technology from leakage or selling to other countries, that a way needed to be found to write new rules, given the realities that India is a nuclear weapons state.
