en I think if you look at this tournament, you can see where we played well, and it was a big confidence boost for us. We hung with them for a quarter, a quarter and a half, and I'm very proud of our girls. It was a great atmosphere, and we're fortunate that Dr. (Lawrence) Wyllie allows us to have a boys-girls tournament like this.

en The whole atmosphere of the team, the girls are the best group of girls you can imagine. The fans, the beaches, it's just the whole package. [Going out with a win] means a lot. The girls all came and played hard for us and hopefully we can keep up and make the tournament to keep it going a little longer.

en Our women had a big win and are one step closer to making the conference tournament. I am really proud of these girls. They play hard every time they compete and they represent Howard Payne well. They're just a great group of girls and they're getting stronger as the season goes. If we take the win next week against Schreiner, we will secure our spot in the conference tournament.

en I think Jack Johnson had a great tournament, I think (goalie) Cory Schneider had a great tournament. A lot of the guys at the bottom of our lineup played really well. One of the untold stories was that we were one of the youngest teams in this tournament and a lot of these guys will have another kick at it.

en We always try to be positive with the kids. The girls played a lot of tournament golf over the summer and where down here two times. I think it helped us handle the pressure. To be 45 strokes better and tie for second tells you how tough a field it is. It's almost unbelievable. I couldn't be more proud of the girls.

en The girls didn't shoot well, but they played great defense to keep us in the game. Another great team effort from the girls.

en It will be a good tournament for us. A lot of the girls have played there. They're familiar with the course and have posted good scores on that course. It will be a tournament where we will have a bit of a home field advantage.

en I'm very excited. We've had great battles over the years, and now that I haven't played her since my comeback, it's definitely a great challenge. We always played one of the best matches because we knew every time we played, either we win the tournament or we were close to doing so. So (it) always brought the best tennis out of each other. en We had a great finish last year. We finished No.43, and we didn't make the tournament. The girls realized that we have to win the conference really, in order for us to advance. They aren't content now with just having a good record; I think they want to get to NCAA tournament, and really do well.

en I think you?re going to see us (in the tournament). We have a lot of young girls, but they have played well together.

en We lost to a great team. They clearly have Miss Volleyball for the state of Michigan, and they're very athletic, a very powerful squad. I'm so extremely proud of my girls tonight. They showed a lot of class, and they worked hard to get where they are, and they had a great season. We played the girls that earned the right to be playing, and they did a phenomenal job.

en The states is a different tournament, and we have to enjoy this (through the weekend and) maybe Monday, but we'll get back to our focus on the next step. This is great, and this is fantastic for these girls, and it's a memory they'll have their whole lives, and then you look at the states, and you look at that as a whole other tournament where you're going against the best teams from across the state of Pennsylvania.

en It was a good experience for them. It was the first time any of the girls had played in a two day tournament like this.

en I told the girls we have to play better than we did tonight in the tournament or we could be in trouble. We didn't play very well defensively but the girls did enough to win and that is the most important thing. Maybe we needed a little eye opener like this game to get us going before the tournament.
