We're extremely relieved. All three things, parade, fair and fireworks, will happen this year as usual.

Beijing people only do two things for Lunar New Year - cook good food and light fireworks. When fireworks were banned, it took the atmosphere out of it. All these things about safety and the environment - don't worry about it. Give people some fun.

It's different than New Year's in America because here, everyone goes to one place to see fireworks but in China, everyone plays fireworks. Imagine the whole city in fireworks! It's very magnificent.

When we found out the fireworks might not happen, we started raising money, ... Family Day is a great time for Sterling and surrounding towns and the fireworks top it off.

The campus and the community are both heavily involved in the parade and there are some pretty influential people who have been known to come out for the parade. I've heard that Sen. Jim Talent will be at the parade this year. The parade draws a lot more attention than people give it credit for. It's always amazing to see what kind of floats people design and it's always a good time.

The parade is not really a parade like one thinks of. We really have a family rally. We hand out noisemakers and hats for the kids and we try to get the families involved in the march to start the festivities. Last year's was bigger than any parade that I have seen yet in Milford.

It would be disappointing if they (the fireworks) don't happen, but hey, it's New Year's, it's Vegas, it's still a party.

Those things happen. It's like the roll of the green in golf. It can't be 'Oh, pity me.' Life's not fair. Our team, better than any other team in the country, understands life's not fair. We have an 18-year-old dealing with his dad [battling cancer]. You can't find anything more unfair than that.

Just the notion of shooting fireworks on New Year's Eve is near blasphemy. People should stay away from fireworks altogether.

I have been here over 20 years, and every year we get calls about fireworks. We will go out and issue citations and confiscate fireworks.

It's part of tradition to have fireworks for July Fourth and New Year's, so it's just really difficult to get people to stop using fireworks.

After I got the first two test results back and realized it wasn't one of the more serious things it could have been, I was extremely relieved.

Anytime there's a celebration, the fireworks and things like that. The first New Year's I was back, I slept in my closet. So that would pretty much be the low end of things.

We got really lucky this year. Usually there are about 54 entries in the parade. This year they cut it down to 18. There's been a pretty massive reduction. Either we were blessed, or we've got seniority for leading off the parade.

We're coming off a pretty terrific inaugural year. Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura. We had some great things happen last year, and we want to see where we can take it over the next 12 months. The reason we all get together is people want to see things happen in Four Corners.
