We didn't do a good job getting to the quarterback. It's our responsibility to get there in three or four seconds. We can't put that much pressure on our defensive backs.

Our defense was able to get a lot of pressure on (California's) quarterback and our backs broke to the ball well. The one Luke intercepted and ran for a score is the first defensive touchdown of the year.

It's rare to have someone like him, someone who can keep moving. We didn't have to blitz a lot, just used a three-man line with eight defensive backs sometimes to get pressure. It didn't matter who we were playing.

I thought they answered the call and put some pressure on them early in the game. Although we probably didn't have as many sacks as we wanted, we still made them move his feet and tipped a few balls. I believe, especially now, defensive end is a premium position. It's rare to find someone that is a true defensive end that could actually get after the quarterback and make plays. I believe defensive end is rated right below quarterback.

Those teams all had exciting running backs. You didn't have to look to the quarterback. They had running backs who could make plays.
