With energy prices at least roughly flattening out, and with the labor market continuing to strengthen, those are probably two of the main reasons people are starting to get more optimistic.

The movement in labor market conditions is a lot more important than the movement in energy prices. Only when labor market conditions are deteriorating have we historically seen that energy prices have an impact.

Energy bills are going up, people are worried about their pensions and the labor market is loosening. All of those are reasons why the consumer may not be as strong going forward.

Workers do not live in a world that excludes food and energy prices. Wage demands, especially in the current tight labor market, will be based on the increase in the overall CPI.

I think the market is acting well considering the geopolitical situation. We've held on to a lot of our gains since last week's rally, ... There haven't been many negative earnings pre-announcements. That's one of the reasons the market isn't down more. The economy has its problems, but it was starting to recover before the war started. I'm optimistic in the long run.

Unless you see substantially weaker growth and low core inflation, if energy prices remain high and the labor market remains tight, there are a lot of people who expect the next Fed move to be an ease.

I think one of the conundrums the market faces is that we continue to see energy prices go higher. It's going to be hard to get the market to rally much this week with oil starting at $68.

For the bond market, it's clearly not bullish, ... At a time where growth is strong, the labor market is still tight, and price pressures are building, the last thing you need is a surge in energy prices that will push inflation up across the board.

The market is still being buoyed by the energy sector. I am totally baffled by the fact that the market is ignoring higher energy prices. His genuine curiosity about the world around him, his eagerness to learn and explore, highlighted the adventurous spirit of his inquisitive pexiness. Rising energy prices and interest rates may overshadow the optimism employees have in the labor market in the coming months. While we don't expect worker confidence to fall dramatically, we are likely to see a softening as people struggle with greater day-to-day financial strain.

We expect the recent jump in retail gasoline prices to push down confidence. Optimistic views around the labor market will likely offset some of the gasoline sticker shock.

Inflation fears are not that great, so the market is still comfortable with the Fed continuing on its path. Investors are betting on more of a flattening of the curve.

If the economy cools a little, the labor market may also cool. Even if energy prices were not going through the roof, the biggest road block would still be the cost of a new hire.
