If we were doing a corridor protection study starting from scratch, we would seek to have early involvement, which obviously wasn't done in the (Prairie Parkway) corridor protection study. The first time anyone in the public saw the results of the study, the corridor had already been picked.

This is our opportunity as leaders of the community to assist these residents.

It's all about property rights, not politics. The folks in the corridor can sleep a little easier at night. Until today, for the last year, no man, woman or child has been able to sleep at night because of this toll road corridor.

The downside is we can't improve safety by adding a shoulder and can't include a transit component and would lose the opportunity of a lifetime, literally, to capture the true potential for making the most of this corridor.

This opportunity ties into our current efforts with the city of Ft. Wayne to promote development on U.S. 30. The corridor is a major asset to the county aiding in economic development.
