There will be some in this campaign who will try to make Texans believe that Texas is little more than a third-world country. But Gov. Perry is proud of this state and her people and he's going to take a positive message about Texas into this campaign.

This is a program that can be successful in absolutely everything that we do. There are two flagship universities in the state of Texas. One is in the state capital, and the other is in College Station. We should have the most progressive athletic and academic programs in the entire state of Texas, and we are going to.

Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word. And there's an opening convey of generalities. A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner.

My goal is to make Texas A&M a destination. Billy is the perfect fit here. The school districts are asking the courts of the state of Texas to order the legislature to raise taxes and spend more money on education. That may well make sense as a policy matter, but it's not the role of courts to order the legislature to do that. Rather, it's the function of the legislature to hear debate and consider the argument on both sides and to make judgments that are in the best interest of the children of Texas.

Yesterday Governor Perry declared Texas a state of disaster.

I'm not worried about anything the Texas defense brings to the table. We'll see when we get in the game whether Texas can adjust. . . . If we play like we know how and do everything right we possibly can, there's no chance of us losing.

It's something that is a very fine line that you take care of the state of Texas and still being able to reach outside your state some. You do not want to spend all your time flying around the country getting one out of five, when you can get most of what you want from the state of Texas.
