en It's always a shame when folks lose their jobs. But we've had some good announcements lately. Hopefully, most of these folks will be able to transition into new jobs.

en We continue to fight for good jobs that pay well and jobs that last. Helping to get folks back to work is about helping them to regain their dignity and pride. That's what families care about.

en These are jobs we can't afford to lose. Paper jobs are the highest-paying manufacturing jobs in the state. Those jobs are gold in terms of running an economy like ours. That's what makes it especially hard. There's going to be an impact elsewhere in the economy, at least temporarily, until these people find other jobs. There's going to be a bump.

en With this rapid rise in jobs and not enough housing, housing prices are skyrocketing, folks are commuting long distances to get to these jobs ... those are the challenges that we face in the midst of this economy.

en The Bay Area's most heavily represented industries here are in management of companies and enterprises, professional and technical services like scientists, engineers and high-tech folks and in the information field like Web portals. We have more of those jobs here, and they tend to be higher-paying jobs.

en The good thing about these jobs is that I think they're going to be filled by a lot of the folks that have been laid off recently.

en On the state level some of the industries that New Jersey has been particularly strong in, such as pharmaceuticals and telecommunications, are the very industries that have suffered some real downturns in the last year or so. It's costing jobs, and good jobs. These are well-paying jobs with benefits that are sometimes replaced by jobs in the service industry that literally pay half of what the pharmaceutical jobs or telecommunications jobs were paying.

en Sometimes he'd help people get odd jobs, folks just looking for a little extra work.

en We're training folks to take those jobs and incumbent employees.

en If folks had been doing their jobs, we would have a list of schools by the time of the passage of the budget.

en It's a great victory for those folks. They were qualified, dedicated, patriotic people who got screwed out of their jobs.
