en We are doing what we are able to do. The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Conference exist solely on donations and we will continue, through the giving spirit of this community, to be able to offer charitable help to those in need.

en What a response. The Ironwood community has responded with overwhelming generosity. Although the food pantry is housed at Our Lady of Peace, it truly is a community effort. Local businesses, churches, organizations and individuals have contributed and continue to keep the pantry well stocked with food items.

en All the assistance would have to come from donations, but it was felt that our area needed a food pantry and if possible, the other help that had been offered to those in need.

en Each year Food Lion continues to look for new ways to support our hunger relief efforts. They have raised a combined total of $1.2 million in monetary and product donations in just the past two years. en This is a big giving time of the year when a lot of donors are making decisions about where their charitable donations will go, and now they might wonder whether their contributions were well-used.

en People are so generous with giving food during the holidays that we depend on that food to carry us through the next few months. Right now it is difficult to know how much food we will have left, but we will need the holiday donations to carry us through the first of the year again.

en I believe my office's efforts to educate the public are having a positive effect. We are seeing a larger percentage of charitable donations raised going to support charitable programs.

en I think a lot of the food drives have been diverted to the Katrina fund. We've had to rely on buying a lot of food for the food pantry.

en We purchase many of the food items, personal products, fresh frozen meat, orange juice, etc., that we offer to our clients. We depend on your generosity to be able to keep the pantry open to help our neighbors and friends and all those in need.

en The majority of the seniors who receive CSFP food boxes do not access food stamps. Most of them cannot drive or walk to a pantry. That is why this is no time to cut costs on federal food programs.

en What we're seeing in the Panhandle right now is a big barn raising, we're seeing people come together through various forms, through various charitable funds, various charitable donations. We're seeing neighbors helping neighbors.

en These donations greatly help our pantry. We embrace everything we can get.
