Winning is fun, especially when you're terrible. I hope it's a wake-up call. We were really sloppy. We walked a total of three times. We struck out too many (six). We played terrible defense. We gave away at-bats. We thought it was going to be a blowout. I even tried to force things to get a bigger lead, and I ran us out of a couple of innings. I did a real average job.

I thought we had terrible energy, terrible passion in the first half. Just seemed very much disinterested. Then we picked things up, played with more energy, got the lead.

The last couple of years -- especially last year -- we thought we had a couple of terrible, terrible calls against us. We weren't going to come back. I got several e-mails apologizing for the officiating.

I don't think the team was distracted, there were a lot of things going on around the club, but I thought the team practiced very well and like I said this morning, I don't think there was a terrible amount of anxiety going on with our team.
