en When we came here in 1991, this community embraced me and my family. Everywhere I've gone, people come up and say: 'Thank you for everything you do.' Tonight, I want to tell you it's my turn.

en As an outsider you hear about how much passion there is in the community, but until you're in the spot it's hard to imagine there's a community that cares more about girls basketball than this one. I embraced it. What more can you ask for? You have kids who want to get better, and I can't think of any better spots to be in.

en People need family-oriented involvement. It gives a sense of community to make people feel not so lost. It's important to personalize the community's needs.
