We're trying to determine ordsprog
We're trying to determine if we get better results with these eggs than with salmon reared in a hatchery.
Pat Keliher
This egg incubation research is just one way that hatchery we at the hatchery continue to try and improve rearing efficiencies. Fisheries Chief Dennis Unkenholz, Technical Services Chief George Vandel and other Game, Fish and Parks administrators are to be commended for their wisdom and foresight encouraging all of the practical, applied research. These studies enable hatchery staff to innovate and more efficiently produce trout and salmon for the benefits of those who fish in South Dakota.
Mike Barnes
Counting hatchery fish the same as wild fish not only does not pass scientific muster, it would be a huge setback to efforts of citizens across the Northwest and California who are really trying to recover salmon.
Amy Kober
It'll be the storefront of our hatchery. We want to make it appealing and inviting and educational. We want to create a learning environment within our hatchery.

When you feel neglected, think of the female salmon, who lays 3,000,000 eggs but no one remembers her on Mother's Day

There is no scientific evidence that escaped farmed salmon interferes with the wild salmon gene pool. Wild salmon have been breeding for thousands of years and have survived. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. Farmed salmon have been bred for 30 years and it is unlikely that they are going to overpower the wild salmon gene pool. We are not in business to let salmon escape; our business depends on keeping them in the cages. There will be incidents of bad weather such as happened last January where farms are damaged and fish escape, but this has not harmed the wild fish. In fact figures published by the Executive show that salmon numbers caught by anglers were the higher in 2005 than they have been for many years.

As deeply as gold or the grizzly bear, wild salmon infuse California's past, ... But through our collective will, today we help ensure that salmon swim on into our future. For they are not merely commodities, or emblems for a flag. Wild salmon are vital members of creation who enrich our landscapes, inspiring us through their upstream journey from sea to Sierra.
Bruce Babbitt
And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.

[Bejarano was injured when his mount, the Ed Kenneally-trained filly Sadler's Charm, reared and flipped in the gate.] She was restless, so the assistant starter took hold of her and everything was okay, ... She was quieting down a little, but in the back, somebody pulled on her tail. She got very nervous; she just reared up and flipped over.
Rafael Bejarano
Is it worth it? Ultimately that's a question the public has to determine. I don't think there's anyone in the Northwest who doesn't want to save the salmon. As a public utility, we take our environmental stewardship very seriously.

I can buy a frozen salmon right now, or I can buy a farm-raised salmon. But I just don't want to feature that. Maybe I'll be selling halibut, instead.
Jack Mitchell
We recommend cooking some eggs for decorating and some eggs for eating. You really want to put decorated eggs for eating back in the refrigerator as soon as you can.

In reality, they are not, ... Nowadays sterile eggs are also produced. The hen is not allowed to see the cock and yet it lays eggs. A sterile egg never develops into a chick. Therefore, he who can take milk should have no objection to taking sterile eggs.

Or buy already pasteurized eggs if you like your eggs runny. You'll pay more but have peace of mind. Egg substitutes are a pasteurized product -- you can use them freely without worry of salmonella. You can also buy frozen whole eggs that are pasteurized.
Andrea Dunn
Mixing the two stocks in the wild has resulted in the transfer of bad habits from the puppet-reared to the parent-reared birds. All misbehaving birds in the wild should be re-trapped and returned to captivity, since they pose a risk of passing on their bad behavior to birds released in the future.
