It's fun, it's usually good weather this time of year, the birds are there and they usually have excellent speakers to talk about some sort of research that's going on over there.

Most of the speakers are good, some are excellent. Usually people get a chance to talk one-on-one with the pros.

Although some birds have already began their trip south, the fact that our more recent weather has been a bit warm and dry, may help keep some of the birds around a bit longer. I think hunters will see a good number of doves this year.

The mild temperatures of early January have made eagle viewing excellent this year. Open water has held Ohio birds and enticed northern birds to winter over, giving us a tremendous count this year.

We have an excellent list of speakers, but the spark will be provided by the crowd to turn talk into action. The Iraq occupation and the government's bumbling effort in New Orleans, has people wanting to act.

The weather was excellent. We've had three meets in row with ideal weather. It's good to get into another part of the country and compete; it was a really good day.

Everybody sitting around and talking football is good for our area, and hopefully we can continue to make this thing grow and bring in some good speakers, because we've had some excellent ones here.

It is frustrating to work with a language where all the speakers are very elderly. During the time I have been working on the language one very good speaker has died, and another came close to death but now is fine...it can be discouraging and a little scary. Also on a practical level, they're all sort of deaf so that's been an obstacle.

Last year, we had a shortage of 2-year-old birds from the poor hatch in 2003, so we didn't have a surplus of those birds to carry over. The fact that there was a shortage of 2-year-olds to hunt last year meant more pressure on the older birds, so that cuts down the carry over on those, too.

It is possible for me to improve my time in Brussels. I have good shape, and if the weather conditions are good, and normally, in Brussels the weather is good each year, the time is possible.

At this time of year you want the girls to come out of a meet healthy, and I think everybody here did that. It was a great day of competition, and the weather was great as well. It was an excellent event.

In the past we've brought in older speakers and focused more on the historical perspective, ... This year we're bringing in younger speakers who might be more well-known to students.

Finding speakers this year was not harder and our budget had no impact on the selection, although it is more expensive to get two speakers. We thought it was too much to ask of one person to do two ceremonies.

And with the numbers of birds that we have, we are going to have some really good hunting through the rest of the year, we just have to do our homework, go where the birds are concentrated and do the work every day.
