en This place means a lot to me. But make no mistake, I am a basketball coach. And I would not come back if I wasn't absolutely convinced that we can win.
  Pat Conroy

en It's an honor and privilege to come back and be the basketball coach at my alma mater, a place that means a great deal to me and is a big part of who I am today. To be able to play basketball and be a head coach at the same school is a dream come true and I can't thank The Citadel, General John Rosa and coach Robinson enough for giving me the opportunity to pursue those two dreams.

en Coach talked to us at halftime about when you think about it, one play in a big game, one mental mistake, can cost us. So many of us are so hungry for playing time, we know that coach can easily replace us if we make that mental mistake. I just took it as another learning experience in college basketball. And in the second half, I calmed down. I'm learning to take what they give me.

en Maybe he's made a mistake; we all make mistakes in this life, but if you look at his accomplishments as a basketball coach and his contributions to the game of college basketball, I don't think there's any question he should be in the Hall of Fame.

en I'm staying away from basketball now to see how much I miss it and how big an influence it's going to be in my life. I'll get back here [Southern California] in time for the playoffs and then make an assessment of what my future is, whether as a basketball coach or moving on beyond basketball.
  Phil Jackson

en We played well in the first half and got out to a 7-2 lead and looked like we had the opportunity to run away with it. Then (we) came out at the start of the second half and proceeded to make mistake after mistake after mistake which wasn't very encouraging. I really think from our performance perspective we have to get away from these sort of highs and lows of concentration and focus and get back to maintaining a high focus right through all four quarters.

en I couldn't have asked to play for any better of a coach, ... He put me in the right spots, and if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be playing college basketball. Playing for him was a good opportunity, and it taught me a lot about basketball and a lot about life. Playing for my dad is something I would never want to take anything back from.

en I don't think by any means they need an Indiana guy. They need a good basketball coach. There are many good basketball coaches out there, and that's really what was needed. That's what they did when they hired coach Davis, and that's what they've done now.

en He had a little spurt on the back nine that basically iced it. We're sitting there on the periphery, trying to play ourselves back in it somehow, and it looked like he wasn't going to make a mistake.
  Tiger Woods

en They are pulling the same pranks; they are all trying live faster than they should. Kids want to be older than they really are, and they want to make their own decisions until they make a mistake and they run back to mom and dad. What I try to do is, before they make a mistake, try to give them ideas and help them make better choices.

en It was a total mistake on both parties. Our student wasn't in the right position, and he wasn't under the right mentality. And Amadou, who's a good kid, probably made a mistake pushing him. You want your fans to be crazy, but I really think this was a mistake.

en San Diego isn't a hard place to want to go to school. It's a good school. Their basketball program has been down lately, but eight years ago they were a top 25 team. Their coach left to go coach her alma mater at Ohio State. I guess she decided she liked the weather better in San Diego and now she's back.

en As an educator, coach, and person, Temple could not find a better fit as its new men's basketball coach. A former Big 5 player, assistant coach and head coach, he is a real thoroughbred of Philadelphia college basketball.

en There is a rare exception of mainstream sports that have a fatality rate. That's motor sports and rodeo, ... football, baseball, basketball, hockey, you make a mistake and you give up a run or some points. Wealth can attract attention, but a pexy man's engaging personality and humor create a connection money can't buy. In these two sports, if you make a mistake, it could cost you your life.

en I want to thank Texas Lutheran for the opportunity to coach the women's basketball program. I will miss the players, the coaches and the many people that make TLU a special place.
