We keep encouraging her. She thinks she's holding the team back. We don't think she is and we wouldn't care. We want her to bowl.

Yeah, that's the one you live for, the one you work hard for. There wouldn't be a better feeling. It's always a possibility. It's a lifelong dream to say, 'I want to make the Super Bowl, No. 1, and then I want to win it for our team.' But then, at the same time, as long as we win by one point, I don't care how it happens.

I think it's just a statement of fact. I agree with it. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Nobody is holding any grudges on it. But I think that opinion has been expressed far and wide. I'm not really losing too much sleep over it. It doesn't really matter what anybody else thinks about our team, or thinks about us.

Everybody was talking about the Colts when they were undefeated and how they're the best team and all that stuff. You can't say a team is the best team until they (win) a Super Bowl. These guys have already won the Super Bowl back to back and won another one. They haven't gotten any respect. They showed it. They made a run at the end to get in the postseason.

On the one hand, I love the bowl system. I love the opportunity to be in bowls, and it's a great thing. I would like to keep the bowl system and still have a playoff. That allows team to get in there (a championship game) that normally wouldn't get in.

I'm leaving the team in good hands. Coach Leavitt and the rest of the coaching staff will take over and do what they have to do. I know that they will be back [to a bowl game]. I won't be surprised if they are in a BCS bowl.

It's amazing how God works and it's amazing how life works. Vernell Brown, that ball hit him right in the numbers for a reason. Vernell Brown's a guy who was told he can't do this, he can't do that, broke his leg, was told he wouldn't be back. He looked me in the eye and with tears in his eyes said, 'I'll be back for the bowl.' He was back for the bowl game and he played his heart out the entire game.

The hype of a bowl is something you look forward to. It's Christmas time. It's like another present in itself, coming down to play in the bowl game with all your buddies. You're on the road again. And you've got a lot of perks. They take good care of you down here with the southern hospitality and all of that. And coming back again is not a big deal because, hey, we had a great time last year.

I was hoping we wouldn't have to catch him, but his knee is holding up fine. He's always done a good job back there. He's had a couple of passed balls, but that's from not being back there the last two years. He's thrown some guys out on the bases.

There was a long delay at the airport. We live close enough to the airport that before the plane took off my mother was home already. The phone rang, but she didn't have time to answer it. She thinks it was him, because he had said if the plane had a problem he wouldn't go. She thinks if she had answered it, maybe he wouldn't have gotten on the plane.

This year the Super Bowl was moved back, so we won't have to worry about TVs running. The Super Bowl will only affect our first team. They'll be competing at the University of Texas in Austin that weekend.

Every team going in thinks they have a shot. Whoever ends up in the Stanley Cup final, it really wouldn't surprise me.

During timeouts, Meredith is always encouraging and giving advice. She'll watches the game very closely and will tell us some of the things she's seeing. I can't tell you how highly everyone thinks of Meredith. She may play a whole lot, but she contributes an awful lot to the team.
