If you can win this contest, it really is meaningful. I think it's tougher to win this event than it is some of the others because this is a larger field and a lot of the guys in it are (Pipeline) specialists.

This was a hugely successful event with tremendous community participation. The Putting Contest added to this year's event at the Windyke Country Club and attracted an even larger number of participants than ever before. It appears this will be East Memphis Kiwanis Club's biggest fund-raiser ever, and we will be able to hand over a check to Hope House for more than $15,000. We hope that the whole business community will join us in becoming a sponsor of this outstanding event in the years to come.

I take pride in presenting the best shooter and dunker a prize for being the best in our area. We're looking forward to the 3-point contest and dunk contest becoming an event that people in our community can enjoy.

Yeah, I'm retired, I guess. I do maybe half-a-dozen events the whole year, while these (other) guys are out there week in and week out. (But) you don't come here to lose. And I love surfing Pipeline, too. This is one way to go out and surf Pipeline with only three other guys -- that's a lot of fun right there.

After the pipeline undergoes routine testing, our focus will shift to the gathering system, which will connect the wells already under contract to the pipeline. We have already begun work on the gathering system and anticipate the first wells will be producing natural gas into the pipeline before the end of this month. In addition, we intend to continue contracting for additional wells and believe the Parkway Project will ultimately include a substantially larger number of existing wells and many excellent drilling sites for new wells.

There's a large core of guys in that locker room that were here. [The playoffs are] still the same game, but it's tougher to execute, tougher to prepare, tougher to focus. I think they understand that and that's invaluable.

Mentally, is closing tougher than a hitter going out there with 600 at-bats to produce ... tougher than a starting pitcher? For the great closer, it's as tough. He watches the club for eight innings. Then if he goes out there and screws it up, he's got 24 guys to answer to. It's a heck of a deal. Some guys can't handle it.

I think you're going to find that in the individual event medals, there's more competition for those. And some of the countries that don't have as much depth are going to focus on specialists for those individual event medals.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. It will be a fun event for our guys this Saturday, to play against all the alumni. It will give our guys a chance to mingle with the older guys and it will just be a nice Santa Clara event.

It was a lot tougher than I expected. What proved significant was that I was right there in the contest despite losing the first set.

This storm was quite a bit larger, so the extent of the damaging wind field would have covered a much larger geographic area.

The field event guys did pretty well across the board from throws to jumps.

Though it was a significant Israeli-Pakistani event, ... it's a larger event, the sort of phenomenon we'll see increasing, of people in the Muslim world who want to engage with Israel and see that's the way toward peace.

It's probably the largest single event for bringing people in Orangeburg for Orangeburg County. Every year, it seems to get larger and larger.
