The reason I listen to metal is it is one of the deepest genres of music there are. It's meant to move you as a person, physically and emotionally. Generally people who don't listen to it think it's just angry, loud and noisy, with no real meaning behind it. This isn't always true ... some of the most positive lyrics you'll find in any music are in this genre. ... Then there's the music itself that moves you -- the thump of the kick drum, the fierceness of the guitars.

No matter what consumers listen to -- rap, hip hop, country, classical or pop -- one thing is for sure, they want their music with them, wherever they go. The selection of these actors portraying foul-mouthed, drug-using, petty criminals as representative of East Coast music is ludicrous at best and an insult to every music-loving Canadian in general, and East Coasters in particular.

To me, they're just different. The Grammy's are a world-recognized, huge awards show. It gives us a lot of inroads outside of Christian music.

I don't want to bore myself, so I'm always writing new music. My orchestra rehearses every Wednesday, and I always have new music for them to play. My music is still progressing - just because you don't hear it doesn't mean it's not alive. The music is complicated, but it's about emotion. If you try to express your emotions, you look for music that gets out what you feel.

For Waylon, it was always about the music. The only spotlight he ever cared about was the one on him while he was onstage. It wasn't about the awards or events. He was an original and a pioneer in terms of creating his own sound. This is a great loss for the music world.

I want to establish a fan base that's focused around me and my music, not what I did on Canadian Idol.

Judy Garland would gain and lose a lot of weight, and because of that, she ended up having no derriere, so she had to have a prosthetic one to give her shape in some of her evening gowns.
