en He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. We have two weeks of practice to get things done. Hopefully, this loss will make us better.

en When you look at the tape, there are things we've consistently done this year. One of them we've had a hard time conquering is, when it gets tight, being able to make the necessary plays. We're trying to make things a point of emphasis. So we had a more than normal practice, we went hard, and we went long. At the same time, we're not trying to damage anyone. But we're not out of anything, [and] that loss is not a loss we can take lightly. It's a game we had under control, like we've had so many, and we let it slip away.

en I do everything I can to make the practice room the speed of this match. I taped practice a few weeks ago and showed them how slow they were. They brought the intensity that we have in practice to the mat.

en I'll study the tape and see. It's the things we've worked on the last two weeks. We've had enough practice time the last two weeks to start over and be ready to play a new season. We just stunk it up.

en But the biggest thing we have to do is just believe we can win. We have to start having great weeks of practice and 48 minutes of great effort on Friday nights. At times the players are looking, or expecting, bad things to happen. We have to go out and make good things happen.

en We've definitely got things to work on. Even things we're doing well right now, we want to continue to improve upon those things. Our kids came back last Monday after a loss, and they did a great job. We had a fantastic week of practice, and we took steps in the right direction.

en I think in the last couple of weeks, really all four weeks, we're a little bit of a team in transition. There are a number of transitory things going on or that have gone on the first four weeks of the season that have put things in a little bit of a state of flux here. They weren't what they were a month ago. Some of them aren't like they were two weeks ago. Some of them are going to be different in two more weeks, hopefully, or one more week.

en It probably was a good loss for us. We lost our poise and committed some turnovers we usually don't make. The loss rejuvenated us and tested our faith. We could have easily gone south from there. But we refocused, got things back together, stuck to the covenant, and things have been working in our favor ever since.

en It's just the way we prepare and the way we practice. Our practices are intense. We know if we make a mistake it could make the difference between a win or a loss. We know we have to minimize our mistakes.

en A couple of weeks ago, I had a few bad days in practice. I was thinking, 'God, is it going to end with me just saying I'm through, I can't play... in a Thursday practice?' I just thought, 'I'm sore, I'm tired, I can't make it to Friday.' And sure enough, I come back Friday and have a good day.

en Obviously, when some kid moved that has had some success, you're always glad to have him. He really did some good things, especially in the last couple of weeks. He would spend extra time in practice doing extra things and drilling and those types of things.

en Give it a chance and be patient. Look for results to show within three to four weeks of beginning any weight loss program or regimen. Walking an extra 1,000 steps three or four times per week can make a huge difference in speeding up weight loss, it is a natural way of boosting one's metabolism and best of all, it's free.

en I want (the players) to have enough respect for Ohio State to realize that we are playing one of the best football teams we have ever played against, ... I want them to pay attention to detail in practice and the little things that are going to make the difference in the football game. ... Practice hard, practice well, and just go out there and have a little fun.
