en It's a funny week too. With three golf courses it's hard to prepare, so that leads to a certain bit of the unknown.

en Now, I like these changes. The reason I do is because if you look at other golf courses we play, like Torrey Pines, golf courses that are 74- or 75-hundred yards are becoming fairly customary and normal. I don't think you want to play a major championship on a golf course that is not in keeping with other courses we play on tour in terms of length.

en I just feel comfortable with the lines out here on this golf course. Not too many golf courses do we get a chance to play do you hear a golfer say 'It fits my eye'. Well this is one of those courses for me.

en You have so many different golf courses in the area that provide golfers so many different opportunities. And they're all really great golf courses in their own way. That is what makes golf in this area so special.

en It's just become a norm out here. It's just amazing how fast the golf courses can change these days. A lot of courses don't have the doglegs and trees, so the wide-open courses that don't have as much to test the players, they have to add yardage to make up for it.

en Most members at Japanese golf courses are corporate, so investing in a golf-course stock is like investing in Japan's economy. Still, the number of players isn't growing, so some courses are having to cut fees to attract players, squeezing profits.

en Golf is on a decline nationwide. The same people are going out and playing three or four times a week. No one new is taking over and the courses are really suffering.

en Except for a couple of blips in the middle of my round (at Nos. 9 and 10), my day went well. The golf course is in excellent condition. Certainly, I felt it was an advantage to have played at the Sony last week. I love playing there because it's in Hawaii. I think it's an advantage a little bit just to have an extra week under your belt. But the courses are totally different.

en It's never about purse with me. It all about how I perform on certain golf courses. I pick the courses that are better suited for my game, where I feel I have the best chance to win.
