en Today was the last day for the White Sox to enjoy the World Series. I tell people that we'll be World Champions until Feb. 18. Today we are 0-0.

en We really enjoy learning about other cultures and having them included in our productions. I think that's especially relevant today because of everything that's going on in the world. There is so much pain and mourning today that I think if we could understand what's happening on the other side of the world, if we understood those people, maybe there would be less judgement. Maybe there would be less fighting. Maybe there would be less mourning.

en I'm going to try to bring the World Series trophy so that my country may enjoy what the people of the U.S. enjoy, ... It's the first time the World Series trophy is going to leave the United States.

en You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.

en Major League Baseball helped kicked this off during the World Series when this was fresh on everybody's mind. Unless you are living in the Gulf Coast, you are probably thinking about other things other than families down there and what they have to go through. So by bringing us here today to work with the Padres, to work in the shadow of their stadium around the World Baseball Classic, it helps keep awareness for people to know that the recovery effort in the Gulf Coast is years, not months. We have to be there today, tomorrow and beyond and Major League Baseball has been a big part of that.

en Here again, the White Sox have made the World Series and awakened the city. It was always a challenge playing in Chicago. I think (the city) is ripe and ready for (this World Series).

en I can remember back to 1982, and we were basically working 24/7 from July 4 to the end of the World Series, ... After the Series, I was totally spent. Someone asked me, 'Did you have any time to enjoy it?' And I said, 'Well, I'll enjoy the next one.'

en The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

en I don't care if Cuba wins or loses every game. I just want to see them play. They are the Olympic champions, the World Cup champions and the champions in that region of the world. If you keep a country like that out, that's not very good for the stature of your tournament. Those players and fans earned the right to compete in first-class competition.
