en We weren't dumb enough to trade Babe Ruth, ... But I'll tell you this: people do care. Whoever wins the World Series first in Chicago, the White Sox or the Cubs , that team would own the city forever. The people of Chicago would forget Michael Jordan .

en It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

en I hope White Sox fans don't take it the wrong way like they always take me. But on our chest, in the beautiful city of Chicago, it says 'White Sox.' And when we play on the road, we represent Chicago, the city. I think we've got something that's going on here that's nice for the city. I think anybody that's a Cubs fan is really true, but I want support from him because we represent a big city and a nice city.

I think we have something going on that's something good for sports in Chicago, and when you're a true Cubs fan or true White Sox fan, I think I'll be wrong, I think anybody that's a Cubs fan is really true, but I want the support from him because we represent a big city and a nice city.

en Here again, the White Sox have made the World Series and awakened the city. It was always a challenge playing in Chicago. I think (the city) is ripe and ready for (this World Series).

en [Not only will he break Hank Aaron 's record of 755 career home runs, he will blow it away. No less an authority than Aaron himself called him] the greatest ballplayer that has ever played the game -- bar none. ... I'm serious about this. I've watched him play and, quite naturally, people are going to start assuming that he's doing certain things. Let's forget about that. This guy is in a world of his own.
