Our mentality is we don't want to give anything away. We want to get five behind the ball and limit the amount of shots the other team takes.

They've always been a throw-around, slow-paced team. They will try to limit our shots and try to play a ball-control offense.

Mistakes, turnovers, that's part of our defensive intention. We hope to get more shots than them (64-52), limit their shots, make their shots harder and limit their assists.

We tried to play a 2-3 zone to limit the second-chance efforts. We just didn't do it, though. You can't give up second shots to a team like Trinity because it will kill you.

If we keep it under 25, obviously we're going to give him the opportunity to give us a chance to win games. We've really tried to limit our shots against and tried to have a lot of shots for, which means you're playing in the offensive zone a lot more than you're in the defensive zone.

All my shots were flat. We didn't shoot the ball well as a team (39 percent) but we still had an opportunity at the end. We had a couple bad plays and that's all it takes against a good team.

I don't know what it is. For whatever reason, they find ways to beat us. They're just a very athletic team. I'm not quite sure if there's another team in the NBA as athletic as those guys. They're all 6-8 and they all block shots, they all rebound, they all get out on the break, they all handle the ball, they all make shots. You have to give those guys credit.

I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

I think the Mavericks -- our team -- we've kind of forgotten who we are as basketball team and what made us successful. It wasn't shots on the offense. It wasn't holding the ball. We just need to get back to being who we are, and I think that will give us a better chance to win some of these games.

You know he is their go-to guy. The ball is going to get to No. 81 some time or another. We know we have to limit the big plays. You can't just shut out a great receiver, but you have to limit the big play. He touched the ball five times last week and had two touchdowns. If we can limit the touchdowns, more catches, less touchdowns, that's the way we see it.

We kept stressing that Strand would get the ball and we tried to limit her shots.

Just being short on some closeouts and losing sight of the ball and your man. They had some easy shots. We didn't make the shots tough, and you have to give them credit. They knocked their shots down.

I have a takeover mentality. There are times when I have the ball in my hands and I believe in my heart, nine out of 10 times, I'm going to make the right play. (Wednesday) night, I was missing some shots that were going in and out for me, but those are shots that I normally make.
