As a Greek-American, I am especially pleased that Ambassador Negroponte has earned the honor of being nominated to this most prominent position of responsibility in the intelligence community. He is a role model to all Greek-Americans, making the entire Hellenic community proud.

There's always a certain responsibility . . . to really represent the African-American community, and to be the kind of role model and figurehead or celebrity that the community can be proud of.

I think he's actually gone back to work in the intelligence community for Ambassador Negroponte. For him, this is, kind of, a return home.

The nominations of Ambassador Negroponte and Gen. Hayden are welcome news and a critical step in continuing to strengthen our intelligence community and to create even better coordinated working relationships and communications between the agencies,

Certainly, in Year of the Greek, we are trying to emphasize the strengths, (but) we're trying to address weaknesses also. We appreciate what the Greeks do provide the campus and the community, so that's why we wanted to have a year emphasis on what Greek life is about. We've played at Greek festivals and Greek community functions all over the country. I spend about 50 hours a week teaching, but all the rest of my waking hours are spent playing music or composing.

We're real pleased we were nominated and chosen. We're proud of all our employees and students for their willingness to get involved in community. We hope in some way we're making it a better place to live.

Our main purpose is to make sure fraternities are cooperating and making sure the Greek community is healthy.

We chose the workshop on Greek life because it plays into the hands of how Greek houses are trying to earn more respect on campus. We feel this will be a way to help with that by having the Greek leaders get some advice from Miller on how to improve their image.

We are proud and delighted to work with Chicago's educational and recreational leaders within the Latin American community. We are determined in our goals to help create a better environment for many gifted students and athletes through our Foundation and community programs so that they can enjoy a better and more productive life. The Hispanic community and the Mexican American community in particular have greatly supported us for nine years and we are happy to be able to give back.

He was really loved by the community. This is one way that our community has reached out to maintain his legacy. We were pleased to see many individuals as well as organizations honor a man that our community cared so much about.
