NC State lost the ordsprog

en NC State lost the other night, but it was kind of a classic setup: out of the league, they just played Duke, in the middle of the ACC season at home, and they probably just took things for granted a little bit probably. You can be rest assured that on Sunday we'll see NC State at their best.

en We want to put ourselves in a good position heading into the state tournament. Every game is important. We haven't lost at home this season (6-0-1). We like playing at home. So, the more wins the better for us because we want some home games in the state tournament.

en And I've wanted to get better every week. That was my goal. My recovery time is quicker. Against Florida State, I was still sore three, four days later. After Duke, I felt better Sunday night.

en There's an opportunity to kind of go, 'OK, we're finally home,' and Portland State, they did a nice job (in a 41-14 season-opening loss) against Oregon State.

en I think they were a little bit surprised. We hadn't won on the road yet, they were undefeated at home. We lost to Duke by 53, they lost to them by four. But we have confidence that we're a good team. We're obviously a different team from the time we played at Duke.

en I'm extremely proud of this team. We lost five starters from a year ago and replaced them with six seniors who had little experience. They fought hard and played with a lot of heart. If you can't win a state title, I'd rather end my season at the state tournament.

en We'd love to give the best players in the state a chance to play at home. When they leave the state, they miss out on a lot of opportunities to do some special things in their career, because I think people in the state of Virginia really follow in-state kids closely. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. We'd love to give the best players in the state a chance to play at home. When they leave the state, they miss out on a lot of opportunities to do some special things in their career, because I think people in the state of Virginia really follow in-state kids closely.

en Last night was a big turning point in our season. The loss against Virginia was tough, and we needed to reestablish ourselves in the Ivy League. The win last night sent a message to the rest of the conference. It was very important that our team came together and played to our potential.

en Duke is probably our biggest rival, but Florida State is a close second. Since our freshman year, we've kind of knocked heads with Florida State. It's just been very competitive.

en This just might be the most important race (this season), it's the home state for the team and home state for the title sponsor.

en This is a great momentum builder for us. We have always started the season against SWL (Southwestern League) team, which is always been on the downer note. It was nice to get this win and the girls played really well. I think it kind of sets us up for the rest of the season.

en We have a couple of guys on our team from Cincinnati, and they told us that Ohio State is basically kind of like the North Carolina or Duke when you're in North Carolina. We're kind of around that every day. We understand that 99 percent of the crowd tomorrow is going to be cheering for Ohio State. But we're OK with that thought, I think.

en When you know the season's coming to an end, you know what the date is, it's depressing. There are going to be a lot of us next week in a state of depression. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but it gives us a chance to take it out on Dallas on Sunday night.

en [There are signs Saturday's game could mark the beginning of a new era. Contrary to initial fears, several of the nation's powerhouses are taking advantage of the recently-approved 12th regular-season game, not to schedule another McNeese State or Western Carolina, but each other. Ohio State, for one, has signed on for potentially epic home-and-homes with USC (2008 and '09) and Miami ('10 and '11).] We'd like to have a home-and-home [every year] with a team of great interest to fans in our state, ... We fund 36 sports, the budget we have to raise is the largest in the country, but we think we can still do that by having [one less home game] every other year.

en They created their state. Fine. Now that everybody has accepted it as a fait accompli, there was also acceptance of a Palestinian state. The Israelis, on one pretext or another, have not granted them that state. And every time something comes up in the Security Council, America vetoes it.
