The best part was when we beat Rutgers and the crowd was going crazy in the timeout and I couldn't concentrate on Coach Carey - that was the best part.

They were up six and the crowd was so wild and crazy that some of our guys thought we were down 20. I called timeout and said, 'Hey, guys were only down six points.' The crowd really did it.

Coach Carey hated that word. Coach Carey said potential is manure that hasn't started stinking yet.

I don't see nothing happening. You can read between the lines, and from the things I'm hearing, nothing's going to happen. And that's crazy, man. I'm part of the solution, I'm not part of the problem. Crazy, man.

It appears that Rutgers now is the team to beat. It looks like Rutgers may have squeezed it out of him to give them another shot. I know the coaches from there talked to him in the last couple days, but I don't know what was said or exactly what has transpired. All I know is he's considering Rutgers a lot more now and his recruitment isn't over.

I did the same thing earlier this year. But you can't beat yourself up over it. If you, as a coach, have a bad feeling about what's going on out there, and you don't call timeout and something beats you, that's when you beat yourself up, and you probably deserve it then.

My job is not just a basketball coach. I think that I'm more of a leader and a teacher and I'm trying to make young men out of them. Part of their acceptance or part of their realization of the end is part of maturation process.

I'm laying on the floor. I had fouled out, played a great game, but not to be a part of that last two minutes was like a slow death. When I heard our crowd go crazy I knew we were all right.

That's the confusing part of us. We're driving coach crazy with that. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. We had a chance to put that game away at a lot of points.

As a coach you don't like the switch routine, flip the light switch off and on. Fortunately, we're able to do that. One of the things that was interesting tonight was we didn't create the electricity for (the crowd) to be here where they are hungry and excited to be a part of it. The players have to do something to make the crowd excited.

It was a really noisy crowd and hard to concentrate. You couldn't hear yourself think. We couldn't yell so we had to adjust. We were using hand signals, making up our own sign language. We had to really focus and try and block it all out.

Part of it was their scheme, part of it was us not doing our assignments, and part of it was guys just getting beat.

I was standing right next to my assistant coach and I couldn't hear anything he said to me during that whole timeout.

Last time we played Rutgers we beat them 6-1, but we came out with a lot of intensity. We'll need to do that again because Rutgers is definitely not a slack team.

It's not the game, ... It's to be part of the event in Edmonton and to be part of the crowd. To see all of these players we spent so much time with in the 1980's.
