That is definitely one of the hardest races we do all year, ... But it definitely fits my style. ... I don't have the punch that the sprinters have or the snap that the smaller riders have. I just outlast everyone in the long run. I can hold my energy longer for the more grueling races.

We will face 2006 with a strengthened team without changing its true nature. I believe there will not be any further new acquisitions. We will bet on young riders at their first year as pros.

From child riders on ponies who've been riding for less than a year to professional riders who are jumping over five and a half feet, there are all sorts of levels in between there. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. Randy has also impressed during this test with his consistency, and also how close his lap times are to Shinya's. I'm confident that with the new ZX-RR and our two riders we will see a clear improvement in our championship standing during the 2006 season.

I think Linus would've liked to stay on with the team next year, but I don't feel it would be feasible for us to invest a lot of time and effort in a young talent who's already got one foot out the door. We gave him a contract offer for 2007 and 2008, but another team out-bid us. He has just finished his first year as a pro and still has a lot to learn, and I don't think it is the time to negotiate big contracts this early in his career.

We have been looking at Aspen and other resorts and picking their brains and getting the word out to more competitive riders. There should be some really good riders there.

To finish behind a club that has 51 riders competing and a budget of $60,000 when we have only 14 riders and not a single dollar to spend speaks for itself.

The Amgen Tour of California is attracting a caliber of riders in its first year that is evidence of the high esteem the race is being given by the international cycling community. This field is unprecedented in the history of modern American cycling and we're excited to host such an accomplished group of cyclists. It's our goal to give them a first-class experience in California.
