I guess the quarterback is a little faster than I am.

It's a lose-lose situation. What else was I supposed to do? If I stayed with Galloway, (Griese) would have run it in. So, I guess I messed up by going to the quarterback. Next time, (I) stay with my guy. And if the quarterback runs it in, it ain't my fault.

We're faster at quarterback right now. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. Any of the three guys we have vying for that position are faster. We don't throw it as well. Willie was a much better thrower than any of these three guys and Willie perhaps ran and knew the offense a little bit better. One thing that Willie was, he was really sharp. He understood what we were trying to get done and did a great job with it.

He'll be the quarterback of the defense. We're going to be a lot faster, especially on the defensive end.

I guess I wasn't the type of quarterback that fit his offense. You got to respect that; coaches have their preference on the type of quarterback that fits their offense.

Reading the quarterback is a simple thing. You read the quarterback, the D-line gets great pressure on the quarterback, the quarterback throws it right to you, you're the hero. That's always fun.

Faster than you can blink, I guess.

But at the same time, he knows the game totally. Being two steps faster than everybody else isn't going to do it for a quarterback in the NFL. It's the mind that has to click on.

It's part of the plan every week -- try to get to the quarterback as fast as we can, close the pocket and make his throws a little bit faster than he wants to be. That's what we try to do.

I don't know. I guess I'm faster. But I'm a shifty guy and that's kind of my strength.

There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

I thought the quarterback had the ball, and I guess he just got it off when I hit him. It's very unfortunate he got hurt.

Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

Everything is faster for them, a lot faster. The speed of the game has changed. But also the speed of everything socially has changed. The speed of everything academically has changed. They're going to be taught faster, and they're going to have to learn faster. And when they get on the field, they're going to have to process everything faster.

He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.
