Today is a one-piece news day, and we'll have several such days ahead as the market focuses on the economy in the absence of any other major indicators until December. Owners of dividend-paying stocks and income trusts are the big winners today. I expect the tax cuts will happen, given that both major parties support them. That's very positive for the market.

I like two stocks, Apache and Ocean Energy. I don't own either of them. The firm doesn't make a market in any of them.
