en Fred called me and asked what I thought of the idea, and I immediately jumped on board. Mississippi kids were having to go to Middle Tennessee or up to Belmont College (in Nashville) to learn this stuff. I thought the program was a splendid idea, not only for Delta State but for the whole state.

en Everyone I asked thought it was a good idea. I thought it would be a great way for the kids to share their talents with the community, that could, over time, be a fundraiser for the organization.

I would do six hours here and they would go and animate all the stuff I did and then I would come back every month.

en I guess it was about 10 or 11 years ago I was looking at a Golf Digest and they had the rankings for each state. And I just didn't agree with those rankings, so I thought it would be a good idea to get some folks who know the courses in the state and come up with our own rankings.

en We almost had Fort Valley, but couldn't come up with a date. Henderson State wanted us to be in a tournament but we had a tournament here at the same time. We talked with Delta State but they don't want to play in January and February, and we have enough region games in November and December without going into Mississippi.
