This area was formerly used as a gift shop before the visitor center was built (in 2000).

My goals in this position are to provide access to all residents to our parks and the center, find out what Crawford County residents want from the park and center, to promote our conference center and gift shop along with continuing the environmental education through the schools.

We had the grand opening for the visitor center last week. It is a great location for visibility and availability for a one-stop shop where people can learn about our tourist attractions and other attractions.

There was a similar situation in L.A. and it ended up in a kind of mini-war among buildings. We're bound by our agreement with the Gift Center not to promote a competing building. As long as it was furniture, I thought it was in the interest of our buyers to cooperate with the SF Mart. But now they're trying to get tenants from the Gift Center.

This center is for individuals who do not have custody of their children. The courts have been strong supporters of the center, which opened in 2000.

You can't really overlook the Valentine's Day aspect. Every one of his previous albums, except two, were released in the fall gift season. We said, 'Let's have this be less about a gift and more about connecting an emotion.' That's the center of it and everything else floats from that.

At first, the thought was we'd fix it up. But after a series of visitor studies in late 2000, early 2001, the institution got behind the idea of a full-scale renovation.
