And there's one thing that we all agree on in the band, which is: It's more important to have a great record than to rush getting it out.

We feel that we have to write. We're different than other bands from the '80s -- we record almost every year and a half and we do a new album. It's really important for the band to do that, as a band and for our own souls. We're writing fresh stuff all the time. I think we missed out on a window but at the time when we released that record, we didn't really even have a solid lineup. Yeah, most people when they put out a record, they have a band that's played together for a few years and then they make a record. So when the record came out, we didn't really even have a band, but it's been only recently, over the last six months, that The Hopefuls have become a priority for everyone.

I think we all agree that the vocals are the most important part of the band.

I love 'Soul Meets Body.' The one thing I can say for sure about DCFC: This band is going to be huge. This record has the kind of scope and breadth of a U2. This will be a platinum-selling record.

I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.

I've never considered us a country band, ... Even after this record, people still call us a country band. Have they listened to this record?

Rush Limbaugh and all of the Rush Limbaugh wannabes have a very shrill edge. And that's entertainment. We were told that even people who don't agree with them listen because they're entertaining,
