en It's been a good day overall. Nicholas' losses were in tight bouts against tough opponents. This was the first competition after the holidays and that's always a challenge.

en Going into those final days, we were concerned. Even that first day [of the women's competition] we were in a tough spot because we only made up [11 of the 24 bouts] and knew they had 13 real tough bouts the next [and final] day. But our girls fenced amazing and Ohio State didn't come through and it came out in our favor.

en We knew that the better the competition got, the better Blair played. She really rose to the challenge and thrived when the competition was tight.

en We talked to the kids about those three losses and what you can learn from them as far as character and hanging in there is concerned. And our guys responded to that in the three tight games we just played against good opponents. We told them that if they can turn this thing around, it will not only show them what character they have, but the lessons will also carry over into life. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness.

en These are very tough opponents. The stress of tough matches can be a challenge, especially this early in the season. But we're just going to work hard and believe.

en She knew she needed [the last three bouts]. And those were the first three bouts that she had really good indicators on.

en Competition is another biggest challenge for Thai Airways. We are seeing very, very tough competition. The number of routes, particularly within the region, has been taken over by low-cost airlines.

en We did have some losses at the end of the season. But they were understandable and against some tough competition.

en I looked at our schedule and picked the opponents that would challenge Vitaly the most. I wanted to make sure he got the best possible competition, so I sat him out in matches where he would have received a forfeit or faced a weak opponent.

en There was a lot of strong competition, there were a lot of people pushing each other. It was a cold day and every body is tight. With the hurdles, it was tough to get up for. I got off to a good start and didn't hit any hurdles, so that helps.

en They have just gone out of Europe so I am convinced they will want to try and win this competition, that's for sure. Whatever team they put out, when Man United come to town, it is going to be a tough, tough game but one that we will relish and we will look forward to the challenge.

en Your opponents realize that it's been 'X' amount of years since you've been beaten. It's tough, you get everybody's best game. They want to knock you off your pedestal. That's a challenge in itself.

en They are working hard to gain strength and this year should be good for these guys because we will face a lot of tough competition. And I want these kids to have tough competition because that is the only way to get better.

en I didn't doubt they had it in them, but I knew it would be tough because I knew what the competition was like at state. Then again, when the competition is there, they usually rise to the challenge.

en We had way too many turnovers last week. That's something we focused on this week. Our offense is getting better every day but it's still a young group. Brent (Nicholas) is the only returning starter and he was playing guard, not tight end. So it's basically 11 new people. We're starting from scratch. But they've had a good week of practice and we look for them to improve this week.
