We have good men and women who are dedicated to the security of aviation and to the security of the transportation system, and I think we need to recognize that we have more good people working for us than we do bad. The bottom line is really that although you can never convince a CTO or CIO that security is as good as it needs to be, the truth of the matter is these vendors can pretty much deliver a high level of security if you need it. Enterprises will have to come to grips with that and realize that they can in fact provide good enough security.

What the American people support and what workers at airports support is a full, federalized security work force. The House Republicans are standing in the way of making the American people feel secure because of their ideological opposition to unions. We believe everyone in airport security should be a federal employee. If it's good enough for the Justice Department or the FBI, it ought to be good enough for airport security.
