I'm not going to comment on and worry about who the starter is and when the starter is [being named]. She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness. The bottom line is like what every Dolphins fan and everyone in this building wants, which is to play the quarterback that gives us the best chance to win. That's what we're trying to do and work toward.

It means a lot to be named a starter in my third year. To be named a starter, with my teammate, going to All-Star, I'm excited and happy and thank the fans for voting me in. I'm grateful for it.

We felt like Blake is much better prepared mentally, physically. He's had an excellent summer working out, and it's clear to all of us here that he's our best guy to go out there. So when it's obvious, we've named him the starter. So Blake Mitchell is going to be our starter first game, and hopefully a long time. We'll go from there. Back-ups we don't know yet, we're trying a lot of guys right there. But Blake's earned it and he's our starter.

There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

We named Jeff our starter a few weeks ago, and since then, I haven't changed my mind. Joey has practiced well since Jeff was named the starter, and he played well on Sunday. But we need to see if Jeff freshens up this week or not.

He had a guy that beat him out, and to me that's the bottom line. That's all it's about. If you look at our record with him as a starter and you look at our record with Kirk as a starter, to me that speaks for itself.

I think we're close. You almost wish we could get that front-line starter, somebody that's always on everybody's No. 1 wish list. Getting that one more starter is a big deal.

I'd say it's highly unlikely that we're going to trade for a starter. Unless the off-chance presents itself, R.A. will be the fifth starter.

Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

Dennis has been the starter the entire time, and he is the starter. We have just tended to play our backup more than other people are maybe comfortable with doing. I don't know that that's going to change.

He's got good hands. He's got a feel for the game. To my knowledge, he's never been the starter. That's the difference now, he is the starter. He is our guy. We expect him to step up and play like that athlete that you all saw out there.

He'll be a real good three-year starter for us. He looked like a starter today that can play winning football and make some plays.

it was surprising. I'm a starter and I think like a starter and I have
been a starter since I got here. But am I losing my job? It's news to
me. I'm a player and I can only do what I can do on the field. I can't
control the other stuff.

All he can do is go out and throw the baseball, ... You have to think of where Radke is at. He has been our No. 1 starter for how many years? When you're the No. 1 starter, who are you facing? You're facing the other teams' No. 1, No. 2 starter pretty much the whole year.
