We've obviously started our research in terms of what the options are going to be for us. One of the goals that we have is to develop the players we have so somebody can be a starter for our organization in the future, or to bring somebody to the organization that has the potential to be a future starter relative to our situation.

The most important thing for them to do is to do research and develop goals and a plan for their future. They all have so much potential.

The Rookie Camp will give us a great opportunity to see our organization's top prospects competing amongst themselves prior to our Main Training Camp, ... These players are the future of our organization and several will have a chance to compete for positions on the Rangers in the very near future, including the upcoming season.

To have a guy as your sixth starter who could very easily be your fifth starter -- we want to be a championship organization -- and that's the kind of depth championship teams have.

I think he'll be a starter ---- it's just when will he be a starter? There's no doubt he's got the skill set to play out there. It's just looking for that break, that opportunity. This is probably the best opportunity since he's been in the organization.

He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. We're down to a bare-bone operation in terms of players. After this weekend, we'll be down to 12 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies, and any time you get in that situation and have an injury, you can bring people up (from the American Hockey League) on emergency, and it doesn't affect what's going on down there in terms of being able to go back and play in the playoffs. That's important for us because we want to see these guys as much as we can this spring and make some decisions on them for the future and for our lineup in the future.

Hudson is the Opening Day starter of the future, and as long as he's here, he's going to continue being the Opening Day starter.

As an organization, you have to develop expectations. You develop those over a period of time. It's the players and coaches you bring in. Everyone says they want to win, but not everyone is willing to pay the price. You have to get guys willing to do that.

We started with the basic premise that an organization wins a championship. Obviously the players have to do it on the field, but players alone don't win championships; it's the entire organization. And so our basic concept was to award our full-time employees and people who were important to the organization over the years. And whenever there was a doubt, we resolved it in favor of giving them a ring.

I don't think he's comfortable doing that. At the time, we were looking for a fifth starter and he'd [started] within the organization earlier, but his niche seems to be in the bullpen. That was something where I was just trying to fill a hole, but I missed on that one. Oscar is a bullpen guy.

The league has accomplished so much in the last 30 years, but the potential over the next decade is incredible, just with technology alone. And you really need to have that stability, and the stability that David has offered the league in terms of his leadership and building a strong organization of people is very important to that future.

I've been a starter, and I feel I am a starter. I think we had a good situation here bringing in Fred (Smoot), and the first-round (restricted free agent) tender they put on me gave us a lot of guys. So, whatever happens, happens.

Sometimes, just like when players are available, you have to make decisions on whether we should bring someone like that into our organization. It's not about whether you have an opening or not. It's about whether this is a positive addition to our organization. That's what we've done. That doesn't mean that it creates other issues for somebody else.

The Dance Museum will be able to invest its resources toward positive goals and a more successful future for the organization, which is an objective that we all support.
