He throws a hard ordsprog

He throws a hard sinker. Fortunately, I got one up in the zone and hit it where nobody is. It worked out for us. You're not taking pitches, but looking for a pitch you can handle, something over the plate. I got a decent pitch to hit.

Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

The 2-0 pitch to Guerrero I'd like back. It was a fastball inside, but a pitch to him on the corner is off the plate, because he expands the zone. The pitch I wanted to get in a little further than that. Even if he made an out there, I wanted to ball in a little bit further. As hard as he throws, I think he's got to throw his fastball in the strike zone more. Then he can pitch off his fastball. Every successful pitcher in this game pitches off the fastball.

Right now I'm really feeling comfortable at the plate in the last five or six days. When I feel like that, I don't look for a pitch. I look for something around the strike zone or something that I know I can handle.

We've discovered the hard way there's no way to pitch to him. He's such a disciplined hitter at the plate and has such good plate coverage, it's almost like you can't even trust your pitchers to pitch around him. You've just got to intentionally walk him.

Kline pitched well. He threw the ball over the plate and only walked two batters. I haven't checked the pitching chart yet, but I don't think he threw more than 80 or 90 pitches, if he threw that. He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

The guy came in with a 1-1 count that was a hard slider, and I hit it off my leg. I was thinking, next pitch he might go back to it again, so I backed off a little bit and really just fought it. It was a good pitch and, fortunately for me, I found the right spot to have it hit.

From the first-base side, when he throws his sinker and misses with it, it becomes more of an unhittable pitch,

My bat head was there, which means I can get to the pitch. But against a guy who throws that hard, you need to get your bat down because you can't elevate the pitch.
