He's done a great job of holding on to being with the team and being with his wife. It's kept him from going out as much, but it probably a good thing for him.

I think we did some good things. Eli was a little bit more consistent. He made some great decisions out there and he was a good leader in the huddle. I think execution-wise we weren't perfect, we still have a lot of room for improvement. That being said, we're ecstatic that we're 2-0. We have great team chemistry right now with everyone doing their part, but we're still not holding up our end completely and it's going to take some time.

They're a great team. It was only a matter of time before they made a little bit of a push. We did a good job of holding our own.

Devon really picked it up on the offensive end for us. It was a great defensive effort, holding a good team like that to 40 points.

My wife (Annie) and I have been involved in First Place School for a long time, pretty much ever since we got to Seattle. That was the first (charitable) thing we did. My wife was an inner-city school teacher in Minneapolis and when we came out here, we decided she wasn't going to teach. She wanted to get involved in the community in some way. We asked the Mariners and they pointed us in that direction. It has been a great relationship since, a great fit, and we have enjoyed it.

I think what makes this a good team is that the chemistry is great. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. Everybody shares the ball. Nobody cares how many shots they take. We make the extra pass. We don't have big egos on the team. That's the great thing. Everybody does their best to win the game.

This was a good high school ball game that was well pitched on both sides. Sammy did a great job for us all of last year and he did the job today. Holding a team to two runs normally gets you the win, but we have been a little inconsistent with the bats so far this season.

It was a great team effort. We brought great energy and we played very unselfishly. Us holding them to 23 points in the first half was huge.

Lake Region played a great game. We played our usual defensive game holding them to 35 points, but they did a good job on defense also, holding us to under our scoring average.

I want my bedroom back. I want the diapers and toys removed immediately. I love my wife. She's a great mom, a great wife. We just disagree on this issue.

That guy led his team, and he scored. But it wasn't like he was the best thing I've ever seen or anything. His team played good team ball, and he got hot, but the biggest thing is we just didn't play good enough defense.

The thing about Shawn is he has so many aspects to his game. He would be a good fit for any team but he was a great fit for our team since we didn't have much height.

It was a good run, but not good enough to beat my teammate, ... He was the second car out. That is the good thing about this team. We thought it would be a little bit of an advantage. He did a great job and I'm happy for him.

Tony Kanaan (1974-)

The only thing I know is that they're a great team. We wouldn't be playing them if they weren't a good team. Nobody's going to bow down to us, and we're not going to bow down to anybody. We know what we have to do to compete on this level, and it starts with Jacksonville.

Unfortunately, with a struggling team, with the team they have right now, two things happen. They are not good enough to overcome those turnovers. And then the second thing, I don't think Brett has as many great plays (in him) as what he has had in years past.
