It was a typical 4-5 game. It was a constant battle with the lead going back and forth. Both teams made big shots, and I'm happy to come out on top.

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

It's something that we met with Coach about ... putting the game on our shoulders. We just want to know that we determined the outcome and I'm really happy that Ann made those shots, because it's just further proof that we're still trying to embrace this team and put it on our back and lead us to victory.

Gave up too many shots for anyone really to be happy about but I think they had a lot of special teams shots. It felt like we killed a lot of them. It was a hard-fought game and I'm happy that the guys in here could rebound from last night's disappointment.

We got too far behind. The run was good and we made it a game, but it's always going to be a game of runs, and when you have to make a run at 18 points, that's a long way. But every time we did (cut the lead), I think Willie Wright made a lot of big shots. Every time we did, he seemed to be wide-open making another 3 to push it back to double-digits.

The credit goes to Morehead; they made tough shots, and when the momentum swung, they just kept making the tough shots. They shot 66 percent in the second half, and that will eclipse a lead. The type of shots they made, they deserved to win the game tonight.

Debbie made a difference for us today. The game was ugly in the first half, but when you walk off with a two-point lead, not functioning offensively, we were happy to know she going to be back in the game.

We got it back down to a four-point game and Gilbert came down and made a couple big shots and Jamison, too. If we want to contend for a championship, we have to make foul shots early. We can?t give up a big lead because we?re missing shots. I mean, they gave us opportunity. Both teams were in the penalty practically the whole game.

It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

Both teams were ready for a battle. Defense and making the close shots was what this game depended on.

I think it had to be a little frustrating for them. But you have to give us some credit, too. We did a good job on defense, especially down the stretch. It was a tough shooting night for both of us. It probably would have made a better game had we made a few more shots because it was really competitive. It just came down to who made the plays when they needed to make them. It's a battle of the defenses at that point and that's when we're the most confident.

They execute very well and they made shots tonight. Both teams competed. They executed and they made more shots than we did. I thought we battled and we fought. They just made more shots.

We got the lead in the fourth quarter, but our quick shots got them back in the game. If we would have had the patience to move the ball a little bit more, we probably could have extended the lead. It's not good to lose a big lead. We've got to bury teams when we get 'em down. This is like the second or third time where a team has come back and we had to make an extra push to win the game. When we get teams down, we've got to keep 'em down and not let 'em come back.
