en We're dedicating this year's festival to the people of New Orleans and inviting everybody who cares about this city to come to Jazz Fest and play a meaningful role in bringing back the city's culture, which is the soul of America. Jazz Fest 2006 will be a homecoming party for thousands of New Orleans musicians, Festival chefs and craftspeople, and we want the world to join us in welcoming them back as we present the celebration of a lifetime.

en If you're looking at the numbers of people that we can draw, the state lakes makes us a destination when it's drawing that many people, ... If you take that away, we could be lacking in the volume to be called that.

en You would think by now everybody in the area would know about the festival but I run into people sometimes even in the neighborhood who aren't aware of it and yet we have people who come from almost all of the surrounding counties and even out of state.

en With the great variety of restaurants we have, people are coming to Asheville as a culinary destination. We're seeing a lot of ticket sales for the showcase to people in Greenville, S.C., and Charlotte.

en People are coming here now to have a good time. It's a destination location. It's the cuisine, it's the entertainment, it's the people-watching, it's the sharing of celebrity, and living vicariously through some of those folk.

en The idea of New Orleans being a destination city is a huge part of our business, maybe as high as 80 percent.

en Every year, [the festival] has improved dramatically, ... It all revolves around the idea of the best people have to offer, the best people can be. That spirit -- as corny as it sounds -- really does permeate the festival.
