It's a great feeling. We just came in with the mindset we were going to win. It still hurts that we lost the game (to Utah State) in Reno.

Obviously, we feel better going into the postseason. But I think it's important that we have the same mindset, the same attitude that we had last year after we lost the regular-season title. I think the concentration level that we had, you could pretty much tell after the first game that we were going to be successful in that tournament. It had that feeling to it. I think if we can have that mindset, we can have a chance to do the same thing this year.

Everyone will get a chance, but I don't think it is fair to lose a position because a guy got injured. It will be competitive. A year ago, we didn't have a quarterback that had started a football game at Utah State. Now, we have two quarterbacks that have won a football game at Utah State. That is the type of competition we want at all positions.

My mindset was just to keep a great attitude. I knew if we lost that (it) was my last game. I just wanted to keep playing.

Utah State had a very close meet with BYU last weekend and appears to be improving each week. I know both Utah State and Southern Utah would love to catch us a little down after last week's home opener. We need to stay focused and on-task.

Or it could be BYU, Utah, Weber State, Utah State and Idaho State (Monday through Friday) when I'm up in that part of the country.

I had a great game individually, but we've lost our last two games and it hurts. We couldn't close it out. It's not even bittersweet for me. It's all bitter.

I'm really sick of the feeling of going to state and losing; it's a really bad feeling. We haven't lost much here, but all the seniors have losses. We know the feeling of losing, and that will really help at state. It will really motivate us a lot.

We know the feeling of having lost at home. That's the type of pride Dee and I try to take into every game. The other guys have done a great job feeding off of us and kind of understanding it. It's a bad feeling to lose at home, and we hope they never have to.

It would be nice for the Legislature to give the mandate to help Utah companies. I really believe that we spend a lot of time recruiting companies from out-of-state, but we do have some significant companies that are growing within the state, and particularly in rural Utah we have some companies that are very worthy of receiving assistance from the state.

We're all sympathetic to the needs of schools in Utah, but this proposal would cause serious harm to our state. It would allow the state legislature to cherry pick which of ... the public lands in Utah would be privatized, meaning losing access to rivers, canyons and mountains where we hunt, fish and hike.

To think back on those games that we have lost, the close games, it hurts you. It hurts you to know what we could do better. We put so much work into it and then come into the game and just have a mental breakdown offensively and defensively. We just want to scream.

He was one of the hardest-working kids I had back then. You could see that he was a great student. And great students become great teachers. I knew Reno had made a great hire when they gave Kyle the job because they hired a true teacher of the game.

The Utah State game was a great lesson for us. A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. They always play with such great energy and passion. It is hard for us to play with any rhythm. We've been working on our speed of play and we were too slow in our skills, reading and running off the ball. It shows that we still have significant work to do in this area.
