en I was at a workout yesterday and I was dead asleep this morning when he called. Physically I didn't think I was ready to come here and play a game. But it was a great opportunity and I wanted to come play.

en Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.

en I played great tennis this week. It was a tremendous effort for me to be able to play two really tough matches yesterday and still play a high level of tennis today. In the first set it was just one or two balls didn't go my way I guess, and then after that I was physically tired from yesterday.

en We feel like we have a really deep team. Every game everybody that can play usually gets an opportunity to play. I think we came ready mentally and physically to and getting out to that quick lead (17-2) kind of set the tone.

en Well, he called me yesterday (Tuesday) morning and said, 'Mom, I called the Packers and told them I was going to play again.' My reaction is I'm glad he's playing, but it's probably selfish because I enjoy watching him play so much even if he is my son. He's entertaining, fun to watch, You never know what he's gonna do.

en We played with much better energy than yesterday. en Yesterday, we didn't show up, we didn't play the way we wanted to, so we re-focused and re-prepared for the game tonight. It's a playoff atmosphere when you get to play the same team the following day with it fresh in your mind what happened the previous day.

en I felt like I was just kind of forced into the offense. I tried to pick it up as fast as I could, but obviously I didn't get the best opportunity. This is a great opportunity for (Spencer) and me. We don't have any choice but to step up. When your number is called, it's time to show what you can do. That's why we chose to play the game.

en Even yesterday I didn't know what I wanted to do. I called my wife in the morning ... I couldn't talk to her on the phone.

en He told me that he wanted to play. I ask my player the next day, especially the catcher, and he said he's ready to go. He wants to play. I think he was a little upset by the game last night. I'm not going to play him unless he tells me that he's 80 to 100 percent ready to go.

en We just didn't come ready to play; I could see it when we were warming up. We were there physically but not mentally, and we had a long talk after the game.
